About Peira Labs
Peira Labs was founded in 2026 by Josh Hall.
The company builds infrastructure software for people who run their own servers, and publishes an open specification for systems that answer from a copy of their data. It is independent and self-funded.
What Peira Labs makes
- Peira, a native desktop control panel for Proxmox VE.
- deadair, a traffic check for gluetun and qBittorrent stacks.
- The Revision Agreement, an open specification, and
revcheck, its checker. - Field tools, free browser tools for planning and troubleshooting a homelab.
- Peira Baseline, OpenTofu and Ansible for small Proxmox clusters, in development.
Guides and field notes are published on the company blog, peira.dev.
How Peira Labs works
Releases are signed or ship with checksums. The documentation for Peira, deadair and revcheck says plainly what each one does not do. On this site, versions, release dates and licenses are checked against their public sources, and every published page names the commit it was built from.
The name
Peira comes from the Greek πεῖρα, a trial or an attempt, the root of empirical. It is pronounced PAY-rah.
